I like it

Looks slick! I really like what you did at the top part of the shark. Shading looks good, although there could have been slightly more contrast on the shark. The only that sticks out is the transition between cat and shark. Perhaps thin or no lines would do at that part?
Either way it looks good!
Happy friday flood!

Damn that's good

Not much to say about this other than it being awesome in my opinion. The only thing is perhaps that the water looks a tad shallow. Deep waters are darker, and with a creature that big, you'd think the water would be at its deepest (unless this giant critter knows how to dig in sand that is). Oh, and it would be cool if the friday flood thumbnail slipped in with the texture around it.
Anyway, you did a great job on this!
Happy friday flood!

Occluded responds:

I can see where the color of the water might indicate depth. Maybe I need to do a little more research. I think deep water can still be blue. Because of all the particulates. I honestly don't give a whole lot of thought to the logic as much as the mood the art creates. I liked the bright blue cheery water, and the light cheery boat colors about to be swallowed whole by one bad ass beastie.

I had originally intended to make the flood icon blend in with the water, but as I got further and further into rendering the water I realized it was going to look out of place no matter how subtly I blended. So I just left it as a cut out. Might be worth exploring though. Look for an update if it works.

Thanks for the critique

oh wow!

Happy Thaksgeving!

Cat icon get!

This is not shitty, not bad at all. In fact I like it a lot!
I actually like what you did to his right arm. and the jagged lines gives it some charm in my opinion!

I think he's maybe a tad long though, either that or I find the tummy a bit weird. Can't really tell what it is. that and the thumb on his left hand.

other than that, good job!
Happy friday flood!

kitty black hole mouth of doom!

This is not bad, not very bad at all. In fact, I think I like it.
My main issue though, is the contrast between the texture of his mouth and the rest of the drawing.
If you look insde the mouth, you can clearly see where the teeth ends. It's really sharp.
The fur though, has no texture at all, if you took it out in an image for itself, it'd just be a black blob with some blurry edges.
Try examining how fur really looks and flows.

Also the attention is immediately being dragged towards the mouth, which is a good thing, but it hides the other facial expressions, such as the eyes.
I don't know if this is the desired effect, but it took me a while to see the eyes and see the cat as a cat, not as a mouth.

Overall it could use some work apart from the mouth. Good job though!
Happy friday flood!

I lold

most things has already been pointed out, but I'm gonna give it a go anyway!
I believe the perspective is a bit off. I'm looking at the area just below his right shoulder.
Also I don't know whats up with the hair, perhaps its just me not getting a reference, but it looks unbalanced too me.

Other than that I don't get the material of his clothes/armor. I sorta think its metal because thats what his shoe tells me, but on the torso the speculation is too dull.

Also the cat doesn't really fit in the style of the rest, but I suppose its better than just having the icon hanging around randomly

With all this in mind though, I would like to say you did a great job, and lifted the average quality of the flood by a notch
Happy friday flood!

Well

It looks good and all, but I've got one question.
How does he stand and walk with his dick being that big?

tehslaphappy responds:

Meow.

Indeed

Kraig sums it up good.
Also I cant tell what the brown pointy thing behind the cat is.

Apart from that, I'd say its a good job! I laughed at the furry tongue!
Happy friday flood!

Nice!

Not much to say here!
The spiders right leg is slightly thicker than the left (front legs)
and possible stylebreak on the mouse as it has no outline,

Otherwise, its a pretty damn good spidercat you've got there!
Happy friday flood!

Jobertson responds:

O.o, surprised i didn't notice the thickness difference..
thanks for pointing it out.
bout time i had my eyes tested it think.. lol

Love the colors

Oh man I love these colors, they are so cold and cool. yet with a touch of warmth. If you know what I mean

The pose looks a bit stiff and uncomfortable though, but that could be because I don't get the perspective ...

Anyways, I think it looks good, good job, and happy friday flood!
